How to Delete Your Account

You can request deletion of your Maison Apéro account and associated data at any time, using either method below.

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

  1. Open the Maison Apéro app
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap Delete Account
  4. Read the notice and check the consent box
  5. Type DELETE and confirm — you will be asked to sign in again to verify your identity

Method 2: Contact Form

If you can no longer access the app, use our contact form and select "Account Deletion Request". Include your registered email address or Maison ID. We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days.

What Data Is Deleted

When your account is deleted, the following are permanently removed from our systems:

  • Your profile (display name, avatar, bio, Maison ID)
  • Your contacts, friend requests and block list
  • Your tasting notes and cellar records
  • Your trackers and tracker data
  • Your devices, sessions and stored keys
  • Your notifications and push tokens
  • Media you uploaded to your own space (such as profile media and tasting-note label photos)
  • Your app settings, and your Firebase Authentication login

What Data May Be Retained

  • Messages you sent: messages you posted in one-to-one and group chats may remain visible to the other participants, shown as "Deleted Account". If you are on a paid plan, you can choose "delete my messages" during deletion to remove them (and their media) as well.
  • Safety & legal records: reports and inquiries you submitted, and moderation/audit logs, may be retained to meet safety, abuse-prevention and legal obligations. These are kept only as long as necessary for those purposes, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
  • Re-registration cooldown: for 7 days after deletion, your email address and Maison ID are kept in a cooldown list to prevent immediate re-registration. The restriction lifts automatically after 7 days (this minimal record itself may persist afterwards).
  • Aggregated analytics and AI-companion conversation data may be retained for service improvement.

Important Notes

  • Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • Maison Apéro is not end-to-end encrypted. Your data is protected in transit (TLS) and at rest (Firebase AES-256), and is deleted from our systems as described above.
  • For 7 days after deletion you cannot re-register with the same email address or Maison ID.
  • If you have a paid subscription, cancel it separately in the App Store or Google Play — subscriptions are managed by the store, not by us.

Processing Time

In-app deletion is processed immediately. Email requests are processed within 30 days.
